Attendees Included Gubernatorial Candidate Peter Corroon
SALT LAKE CITY—The Political Advocacy Committee of the Utah Women’s Alliance for Building Community (UWABC) was proud to host “Let’s Talk,” a non-partisan issues forum, on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
Set up in a “speed dating” format, participants will asked questions about relevant political issues. Experts answered the questions under time limits, giving participants more opportunities to explore the topics.
Experts included Sarah Baldwin (Utah Clean Energy), Peter Corroon (Salt Lake County mayor/gubernatorial candidate), Karen Gilmore (Rocky Mountain Power), Representative Chris Herrod, Chet Loftis (Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah), Kelli Lundgren (Coffee Party), Senator Luz Robles, Deeda Seed (Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance) and Susan K. Southwick (Tea Party).

Topics will included economic development/employment, immigration reform, energy development, health care reform and land use/imminent domain legislation.
“It’s really important that guests come with their most pressing questions,” said committee chair, Kirsten Peterson. “These are really important issues today and we need to explore them.”
Each year the UWABC Political Advocacy Committee provides two political functions to educate and enlighten community members on relevant issues and to encourage political participation.
