Biography:
Kirsten Peterson studied communications and theatrical set design at the University of Utah. She moved to San Francisco and earned her BFA in Advertising Design with an emphasis on Computer Graphics from the Academy of Art University, graduating with honors. She interned at Varitel Video, a top post-production facility, producing art for animations and special effects.

Kirsten then worked as an art director at Patrick Media Group, a national outdoor advertising firm. She led the corporation in the switch from traditional layout production; to using innovative Apple® computers in their design departments nationwide. Kirsten then personally trained designers and art directors across the country to use Macs as design tools.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Kirsten was a senior graphic designer, art director, and team leader at Dahlin Smith White Advertising (later EURO RSCG/DSW Partners) just as it was forming an interactive cadre. “DSW serviced their high-tech client base with a progressive approach that allowed me to expand from print advertising into the multimedia and interactive realm.” She participated in DSW’s remarkable evolution from an already well-respected and sophisticated high-tech, print-based ad agency into a formidable, integrated global advertising force. Kirsten worked on full print campaigns with collateral design to interactive creative spots–for clients such as Intel, Iomega, InFocus, STAC Electronics, Bay Networks, Adaptec, Tenfold, and Ask Jeeves.

Kirsten launched her company, A_Priori Creative Alliance, in 1999 to promote positive changes in the world. Combining 25 years of experience with new-found business savvy, she soon recognized that a team approach would better serve her customers. Kirsten compliments the strength of the whole team to create integrated marketing materials for clients such as Atmosphere Studios, Earth Goods General Store, A.K. Smith Architects, Rio Tinto, ETC Group, Haynie & Company CPAs, Utah Democratic Party, Cymphonx Corporation, Power Electric Company, Moab Charter School, and Colorado River & Trail Expeditions.

Her life-long interest in conservation and alternative energy development drives her vision for 2010. “It’s time for a complete paradigm shift, where creative entrepreneurs put their knowledge to the test and transform the economy. The waiting is over, and there is a great deal of work to be done.” – KP
